Safety aboard Xylonite whilst underway, at anchor and in port, is of paramount importance. A safety briefing will be given by a member of the crew at the start of each charter at sea. Please feel free to ask questions at the briefing.

Life jackets are available for each passenger, they conform to latest MCA regulations. Non swimmers are advised to wear life jackets as are all passengers in heavy weather situations. The crew rarely wear life jackets as the bulk of the jacket itself can hamper their ability to sail the ship.

There are enough emergency life rafts for all passengers and crew. The ship carries all standard safety, first aid and fire fighting equipment as required by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Xylonite has comprehensive public liability insurance.

Whilst on board care should be taken particularly in bad weather or when alcohol is being consumed.
